Pregnancy Update: Week 30



How far along: 30 weeks

Total weight gain: 26.5 lbs (started around 115, currently at 141.5)

Sleep: It's about half and half right now. I had a few nights of great sleep and a few not-so-great nights. 

Maternity Clothes: I pretty much live in my maternity jeans for work, maternity yoga pants for running errands and big pj pants for lounging at home. I have a few maternity shirts, but mostly wear my old shirts as they are very stretchy :)

Food cravings: Water, sweets

Food aversions: Spicy stuff gives me major heartburn right now.

Symptoms: Major swollen ankles/legs (yuck!), hungry all the time, tired feet, headaches.

Movement: Still lots of moving around in there, combined with a few powerful kicks that really hurt. lol. I can't even imagine how that will feel in the coming weeks when he is bigger/stronger.

Gender: A BOY!!! :) 

What I’m looking forward to: Same as last week -- Starting Spring Cleaning, baby shower stuff, nicer weather, picking out decorations for Oliver's room.

What I miss: Having energy to walk around a store without getting exhausted.

Best moment this week: Nothing in particular stands out, but I do know what the worst part of the week was: failing my 1 hour glucose test :( Hoping for a better result for the 3 hour test.

Pregnancy Update: Week 29



How far along: 29 weeks

Total weight gain: 24.5 lbs (started around 115, currently at 139.5)

Sleep: My nights of good sleep have seem to come to an end :( I just can't seem to get comfortable anymore and toss and turn all night. 

Maternity Clothes: I don't have many maternity items (maybe 10 or so total), but I wear the heck out of them :) I bought some bigger plain t-shirts from Target to wear, which has been a lifesaver. I'm getting to the point where even my maternity stuff is no longer fitting, so I'll need to get creative these next 11 weeks.

Food cravings: Water, Subway, fruits & veggies

Food aversions: I'm doing ok with most foods.

Symptoms: Major swollen ankles/legs (yuck!), hungry all the time, tired feet, headaches.

Movement: Still lots of moving around in there, combined with a few powerful kicks that really hurt. lol. I can't even imagine how that will feel in the coming weeks when he is bigger/stronger.

Gender: A BOY!!! :) 

What I’m looking forward to: Starting Spring Cleaning, baby shower stuff, nicer weather, picking out decorations for Oliver's room.

What I miss: Not gaining 3 pounds in a week by eating normally. lol! The weeks that I don't eat as healthy, I'm sure I'll be huge at the next weigh in, but I'm not. But the weeks where I really eat healthy seems to be when I gain the most. I've given up trying to figure this out :)

Best moment this week: Doctor's appointment at a new facility. The doctor was great, Oliver's heartbeat was 155 and I was able to get caught up on my shots. I'm really happy I switched doctors and look forward to future appointments.

Pregnancy Update: Week 28



How far along: 28 weeks

Total weight gain: 23 lbs (started around 115, currently at 138)

Sleep: I have been having crazy dreams, but am still sleeping really well at night, thank goodness!

Maternity Clothes: I'm in all maternity bottoms at this point, but am still wearing my regular shirts, with a few maternity ones thrown in.

Food cravings: Chocolate, water, cooked veggies of all kinds.

Food aversions: I'm doing ok with most foods.

Symptoms: Itchy skin, tired in the afternoons, swollen ankles/legs (yuck!), hungry all the time.

Movement: The kicks have now turned into full powered body slams against my stomach. lol! It's so funny to look down at my stomach and watch it move back and forth. Little man has some muscle. 

Gender: A BOY!!! :) 

What I’m looking forward to: Our monthly prenatal appointment with the new doctor is on Thursday. I'm looking forward to hearing the heartbeat and making sure everything looks ok.

What I miss: Not getting medical bills all the time that make me rage at how high they are :( That should stop now that I have awesome insurance through my work. 

Best moment this week: Putting together our registry at Target. Getting to scan all the cute stuff was a lot of fun :)

Pregnancy Update: Week 27



How far along: 27 weeks

Total weight gain: 21.5 lbs (started around 115, currently at 136.5)

Sleep: Still good for now.

Maternity Clothes: I'm in all maternity bottoms at this point, but am still wearing my regular shirts, with a few maternity ones thrown in.

Food cravings: Veggies, sweets, salty stuff.

Food aversions: The heartburn has calmed down a lot, so I'm able to eat most things and feel ok afterward.

Symptoms: Itchy skin, tired in the afternoons, swollen ankles/legs (yuck!), hungry all the time.

Movement: Baby's kicks are getting really strong. He's been quite active this week. 

Gender: A BOY!!! :) 

What I’m looking forward to: Putting together a to-do list and getting started on all the little things that need to be done before Oliver gets here.

What I miss: Clothes that fit, not being scared to step on the scale, not getting tired walking around Target.   

Best moment this week: Finding some awesome deals on clothes for Oliver and then hanging up those tiny little things in his closet :)
